5 Anime girls who are bad at cooking

Ah, cooking. An essential skill needed to be utilized properly by any individual in order to ensure one’s survival, or else risk death by starvation. To bad I never mastered it. On today’s post, I will share anime girls who are bad at cooking. Also, spoilers ahead. Let’s go!

1. Akane Tendo (Ranma 1/2)
Akane Tendo lost her mother at a young age and as a result, her older sister, Kasumi, took the helm as family matriarch and handled everything, including the cooking. Because of this, Akane was never taught on how to cook proper meals. Another factor that added to this handicap was her time spent being drilled as a martial artist by her father or at times training by herself. Due to this, she would prepare food with whatever ingredient was available making the people eat her cooking sick or disoriented. However, she has been seen practicing cooking throughout the series albeit with minimum progress. Don’t give up Akane!

2. Cecilia Alcott (Infinite Stratos)
What makes Cecilia a terrible cook? By lacing food using ‘special ingredients’ that can incapacitate you when you take a bite, as experienced by Houki, Charlotte, and Laura. If it’s not about the ingredients that can kill you, then how about using a little bit of fire power that can make things go boom in the kitchen? Poor Lingyin… She would never be the same after that incident. Despite her disastrous attempts to cook, she still want to learn in earnest for her to please Ichika. I can also sympathize why she became like this since she was born from a noble family where all the basic skills a normal person would normally learn and take for granted had been robbed away from her since all of that were done by her servants. I guess being rich also has its downsides.

3. Ren (DearS)
Can aliens even cook? Yes, they can. However, it depends on how you define ‘food’ since not all of us have the same taste buds. The earliest meal she was able to prepare was melon bread soup where it looked very similar to the purple slime used on Nickelodeon shows of the yesteryears in which digesting it would result to disastrous consequences. To be fair, she actually learned how to make proper meals over the course of the manga and anime to serve to Takeya, but she still favors that melon bread soup as a personal preference. I wouldn’t touch that with a 10 foot pole.

4. Millie (Lost Universe)
It’s odd for Millie to be placed on this list since she can actually cook good food as evident on the picture above. However, there’s a reason why I added her here. Not a bad looking pie, if I do say so myself!

The reason I added her is because the kitchen she uses is always left in ruins whenever she performs the evil deed. Yeah, her chow is yummy, but without a kitchen for me to put food together, I’ll be busy trying to figure out how to put the blown-up galley together again like what happened to Humpty Dumpty. I’d better steer clear from the kitchen whenever she does that!

5. Tae Shimura (Gintama)
And finally we reach the conclusion of this list, where I reserved the best for last. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Tae Shimura. What makes her as the worst cook for any anime girl to have ever walked the planet is that fact that the egg she cooks turns to dark matter. I don’t know how she does the impossible possible, and the definition of dark matter is not helping my brain comprehend it, but let’s just say that this cooking is very dangerous that it compromised the eye sight of her younger brother Shinpachi Shimura, as well as other medical maladies for those who have sampled it. I prefer my eggs boiled since it’s healthier.
