Greetings internet users. I hope all you are doing well. Time now for another episode review of Beast Tamer. Took me 3 months since my last review due to my hectic schedule and my addiction to procrastination. A warning before reading my post: This review will contain spoilers. Here we go!
Summary
Our heroes look for the Shadow Night who is holding Luna hostage in which they need to do it before sundown otherwise she will get the ax. Rein and Kaede attacked the Shadow Knight while Tania used the opportunity to rescue the damsel in distress.
Rein summoned a swarm of bees to distract the Shadow Knight and used this opportunity to a buff to our cat-eared lady in which the latter used this temporary boost in power to one-punch the Shadow Knight.
After the twins happily reunited, they have concluded to leave their village since Sora cannot stand living on the same place with the people who had abandoned her sister. Kaede offered the twins to come and join their party.
The twins accepted and proposed to Rein to form a contract with them. With a bit of hesitation, Rein formed a contract with the fairies without much difficulty though he got exhausted after it was done. The party then delivered the shield to Arios though he doubted it since it took only an unbelievable short amount of time.
After the shield was verified to be authentic, Aggath offered Rein to return to their party on the condition that our beast tamer will be treated better but the former declined since he already found the true comrades he had been yearning for.
Review
Either the Shadow Knight was utterly weak or Rein is getting overpowered, we cannot deny the fact that this rescue mission was kind of anti-climatic since I’m expecting that our party should at least feel the struggle of battling one of the minions of darkness. Rein’s abilities seems to be popping out of nowhere to suit the situation with the same old excuse that he learned how to use the Boost spell from the village he was born making him a bonafide Gary Stu although there’s an explanation on the sudden surge in his power due to the contract he made with the party members he made.
Luna is an interesting character in my opinion; I now know why Sora never gets bored whenever they’re on guard duty when looking after their village. I’d be surprised if Luna had the same boring personality like Sora’s. I know there might be a lot of Sora fans out there, but I think Luna is the better of the twins since she has more character after she was introduced.
I think the only interesting aspect of this episode is the lore of why the hero exists and why he is needed to defeat the demon king. Yes, I like lores inside the shows I’m watching since I’m a sucker for that folks so you gotta forgive on that part. However, it does not explain why is there another demon king on the loose if the first hero already defeated the previous one. Does it mean a demon can be the new demon king if they wish to claim the title lickity-split? Anyways… today’s episode is nice, but not overly good. Thanks for reading and have a great day!
